This is a lesson plan I developed for the Kindergarten students at my first clinical practice classroom. It was a K-1 classroom, but for math, the class split up by grade. The first grade students would join the other K-1 class and the Kindergarten students from the other K-1 class would join our classroom. In this lesson, the class was working on a Math Task in which they needed to find the number of ways to get to the number 5. This task supports the new Common Core standards for Math, and the students worked in groups to demonstrate their work.
