This essay, completed for my LTWR 360: Global Literature course, critically examines the crucial role of storytelling in Fatima Mernissi's Dreams of Trespass. I discuss the traditional importance of oral storytelling in the Moroccan culture and how the women in Mernissi's memoir use this practice to metaphorically free themselves from their harem isolation.
